Last month, professional athletes, sports aficionados, special guests, and members of the Orange County community participated in an evening of fine dining and philanthropy at the Irrelevant Week All-Star Banquet hosted by The Foundation for the Undefeated at Island Hotel in Newport Beach.

The event was the highlight of the week of activities celebrating the 39th “Mr. Irrelevant” Lonnie Ballentine, the final player selected in the NFL Draft.

Impressive silent and live auctions, and a call-to-action donation, netted more than $80,000 to support The Foundation for the Undefeated and its 2014 charitable partner, Special Olympics Southern California.

In addition to planning and hosting the annual Irrelevant Week, the Foundation for the Undefeated shares stories of perseverance in sports to inspire greatness in others.

Among the attendees: legendary USC and L.A. Rams football coach John Robinson, former UCLA football coach Terry Donahue, and many noted athletes.
