The Balboa Bay Club and Resort welcomed over 300 guests who arrived to attend a formal Girls Incorporated of Orange County’s Annual Celebration featuring Mistress of Ceremonies and Celebrity Chef, Jamie Gwen. During the VIP reception, I was deeply impressed with the many young ladies in attendance who confidently greeted us, hands outstretched to introduce themselves, offering to escort us to our tables or offer information about the evening’s schedule of events. It made for a very special and unique experience by supporters.

Girls Inc. Guild Board president, Laura Baratta along with fellow board member Julie Grad co-chaired this year’s celebration which was focused on the many girls in attendance who are learning to embrace the Girls Inc. message to become “strong, smart and bold.” It was clear the message was not lost on the special girls who spoke from the stage during the event, who received a standing ovation.

More than $300,000 was raised in support of the non-profit which has served the Orange County community since 1954. The organization provides quality research-based and age appropriate year-round after school and summer programs for girls 4 ½ to 18 designed to improve self-esteem, grades, prepare for higher education, become active in the community, explore science, math, and technology and become economically independent women.
