The surf today should be mostly 2- to 3-plus-foot surf at well exposed breaks, while top spots see some shoulder high sets early. Peaky at beachbreaks well exposed to the South and NW energy.

Davey's Locker caught 28 calico bass, 17 bonito, 10 blue perch, 2 barracuda, 1 sheephead and 1 sculpin.

The surf today should be be a slow fading South groundswell with minor NW windswell mixing in. Look for mostly 3- to 4-foot surf at well exposed breaks. Select breaks still produce occasional sets up to shoulder-head high, most prominent on the incoming tide push. Beachbreaks are peaky that are well exposed to the South and NW energy.

Davey's Locker caught 105 calico bass, 23 sculpin, 17 whitefish, 15 sand bass, 12 blue perch, 5 bonito, 5 sheephead, 5 barracuda, 3 rockfish and 1 sargo.

The weather today should bring some clouds this morning that will give way to generally sunny skies for the afternoon. High 73 degrees. Winds SW at 5 to 10 mph. Low tonight 61. Sunrise: 6:24 a.m. | Sunset: 7:20 p.m.

Peninsula Center to Get New Look and Store

The shopping center on the corner of 32nd and Newport Blvd. on the Peninsula is a-changing.

The lineup of current tenants are leaving this month, a major renovation will be undertaken, and a new lineup of stores will be landing in the spring at The Landing, as the center will be rechristened.

The surf today should be a bit smaller as the S swell slowly eases. Still, lots of exposed spots are in the shoulder- to head-high-plus zone, while top breaks see larger sets running a couple feet or more overhead in the morning. Beachbreaks will tend to be pretty walled.

Davey's Locker caught 41 calico bass, 40 sculpin, 16 bonito, 14 blue perch, 10 sand dabs, 6 red snapper, 2 whitefish, 2 bocaccio, 2 rockfish, 1 barracuda and 1 lingcod.

The weather today should be partly cloudy and warm, with a high of 88 degrees. Winds WSW at 5 to 10 mph. Low tonight of 68. Sunrise: 6:21 a.m. | Sunset: 7:25 p.m.
