The Lido Theater isn’t just for movies anymore, although the Newport Beach Film Festival used the historic, restored theater for its 2026 Festival last month.
As the Righteous Brothers demonstrated with their two sold-out shows in September, the Lido Theater has an outrageous sound system that’s perfect for live music.
With that in mind, the Lido Theater is presenting three tribute concerts in November, starting with one that’s more than a tribute.

On Friday, Nov. 6, Kenny Metcalf takes the stage at 8 p.m. as Elton & The Early Years Band – “Madman Across the Water” at 55.
Was it really 55 years that Elton John released his classic album that contained such songs as “Tiny “Dancer,” “Levon” and of course the title track.
Audiences will step back in time as Metcalf and his band deliver a powerhouse tribute celebrating the music, style, and showmanship of one of rock’s most iconic artists.
What makes this concert so special is that guitarist Caleb Quaye—one of Elton John’s earliest musical collaborators and a guitarist who played electric guitar on two of the album’s most enduring songs, “Tiny Dancer” and “Levon”—will join Metcalf and the band at The Lido. They’ll perform songs from the landmark 1971 album alongside fan favorites from Elton’s legendary catalog.

The next night, Nov. 7, is Devotional: The Depeche Mode Experience. For over 15 years, Devotional – The Depeche Mode Experience featuring Freddie Morales has brought the sound, style, and spirit of Depeche Mode to life with remarkable authenticity. Experience iconic hits, deep cuts, dramatic visuals, and the dark, electrifying energy of one of modern music’s most influential bands for more than four decades.
And finally, on Friday, Nov. 13, audiences will be thrilled to hear DSB: The World’s Greatest Journey Tribute Band.
With soaring vocals, incredible musicianship, and high-energy performances, DSB brings the legendary Steve Perry era to life with stunning authenticity. From “Don’t Stop Believin’” to “Faithfully,” relive Journey’s biggest hits in a dazzling concert experience that captures the power, emotion, and spirit of rock’s golden era.
A bonus concert on November 19: Big Bad Voodoo Daddy takes the stage to perform their 1940s swing meets jazz, jump blues, and Dixieland with pop-rock flair.
The Lido Theater still screens classic and first-run movies. For a complete schedule, visit https://www.thelidotheater.com.
