Mothers and Daughters Raise $100K for Charity League

National Charity League Juniors hosted its annal Mother-Daughter Luncheon and Fashion Show at the Balboa Bay Club, with the circus-inspired theme of “Under the Big Top.” The event sold out, with some 500 people in attendance, and raised more than $100,000 for NCL Jr.’s charities.

The Newport Beach Chapter of NCL Jr.’s is composed of more than 60 women with daughters ranging from kindergarten through 6th grade. The purpose of NCLJr.s’s is to foster the mother-daughter relationship in philanthropic, cultural and social activities. The organization was founded in 1963.

High Hopes Head Injury Program, Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation and the Harry and Grace Steel Children’s Center at Orange coast College are the charities that NCL Jr.’s Newport Beach has partnered with, raising more than $115,000 in the 2010-11 year.
