One of the year’s most fashionable charitable events will be changing Newport Beach venues in October as the Harvesters 19th annual luncheon and South Coast Plaza fashion show moves from Island Hotel to Big Canyon Country Club. The change had members of the Harvesters buzzing recently as they gathered at South Coast Plaza on Bastille Day to celebrate the opening of the Longchamp boutique.

The stylish ladies raise funds and awareness for Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County, and the French luxury brand donated $5,000 plus 20 percent of sales during the first two weeks to the food bank, which helps feed more than 240,000 O.C. citizens each month.

Co-hosted by Suzan Paek, Kacey Spies-Bruno and Olivier Cassegrain (a member of the Longchamp founding family), the party celebrated the opening of Longchamp’s first SoCal boutique. Guests included many Harvesters such as Jill Johnson–Tucker, Melinda Serra, Ann Smyth and Jennifer Segerstrom, as well as Anton Segerstrom, Kathryn Glassmyer and Debra Gunn-Downing from South Coast Plaza and Longchamp CEO Stephanie Disegni, who was in from NYC.

Joe Schoenigh from the Second Harvest Food Bank thanked those in attendance for their help with the organization, which works with some 470 member charities that help feed the hungry, including churches, shelters, senior centers, homes for abused women and children and many other emergency assistance groups.
