The Bank of America Charitable Foundation has awarded $350,000 in grants to 18 nonprofits dedicated to providing workforce development and education opportunities throughout Orange County.

One of those nonprofits is the Newport Beach-based Orange County Community Foundation, which received a grant for $20,000 for its Accelerate Change Together (ACT) program to provide youth with academic support, job training and workforce readiness skills. The Foundation will use the funding to address the college and career readiness gaps for underserved Anaheim youth.

“With support from Bank of America, and through the Accelerate Change Together Anaheim Initiative, we will be able to provide 1,000 youth with academic support, job training and workforce readiness skills,” said Shelley Hoss, President of the Orange County Community Foundation. “We look forward to broadening our impact in the Orange County community with these resources from Bank of America.”

These grants are part of Bank of America’s commitment to responsible growth as it works to improve the financial lives of individuals and families in Orange County. In 2015, the Bank of America Charitable Foundation gave more than $1 million in grants to Orange County nonprofits, and local employees volunteered more than 40,000 hours in Orange County communities.
