More than 300 people attended the 53rd Annual Adoption Guild Patroness Tea at The Pacific Club in Newport Beach, which was bathed in a sea of spring colors and soft floral arrangements for the occasion.
While guests dined on light tea fare, Julie Brown, Executive Director of Holy Family Services Adoption & Foster Care Agency (“HFS”), the beneficiary of the event, introduced new parents Susan & Armen Chakmakian and their 7-month old son, Gabriel. Susan shared her inspirational experience with the adoption process, the initial trepidation of a cancellation and joy of success in finding Gabriel.
This Tea was highlighted by a Neiman-Marcus Spring Trend Fashion Presentation narrated by Public Relations Director Michaele Hall.
The Patroness Tea also featured shopping with boutiques such as Jacqueline B., Inc., Borrowed Bling, Hana’s Fashions, Shelly Fashions and many others. All vendors donated a portion of their proceeds to Adoption Guild.
The Tea Menu featured a delectable array of assorted mini quiches, scones with jams, devonshire cream and lemon curd, and assorted salads and tea sandwiches. Desserts were an assortment of mini dessert pastries.
Spotted in the audience were Bowers Museum Chairman Anne Shih, Van Cleef & Arpels Manager Nancy Bai, Soogie Kang & Angela Lee, HFS Board President Marianne Wright, Jackie Glass, USC-er Melanie Salata Fitch, La Cave Restaurant owner Laura Palitz, Carole Lincoln, Roy & Joy Emerson, and Antonello’s Fionella Cagnolo.
The Adoption Guild Tea committee was chaired by visionary Britt Meyer, with Mary Eadington and Debbie Sampson as vice chairs.
