The Newport Beach Chamber of Commerce has a pair of back-to-back events that are open to both members and the general public.

On May 21, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., the Chamber continues its Networking Luncheon Speaker Series with “The Journey to a Customer Focused Culture” featuring guest speaker Jeff Toister, at the Bahia Corinthian Yacht Club, 1601 Bayside Drive.

Toister is the author of “Service Failure: The Real Reasons Employees Struggle with Customer Service and What You Can Do About It. His company, Toister Performance Solutions, helps clients improve customer service.

During the luncheon, Toister will help attendees experience ways that culture can influence employees’ actions, examine the three essential elements of a customer-focused culture, and develop strategies for integrating each element into your own organization.

Cost to attend is $30 for members with a reservation. Members at the door and potential members are $35. Includes lunch and free parking.

On May 22, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., the Newport Beach Chamber partners with the Costa Mesa Chamber of Commerce for a Sunset Mixer at Vivante on the Coast, a new assisted living facility created by local developers and located on the border of Newport Beach and Costa Mesa.

Members are free; $35 for nonmembers. Reservations not required. No host bar, raffle prizes, complimentary hors d’oeuvres. Free valet parking.

The Newport Beach Chamber annual meeting will be held prior to the mixer at 5 p.m.
