9/11 in Newport

The events of Sept. 11, 2001, are forever seared into the memory of all Americans who lived through that awful day, and across the country, people are commemorating the day in ways that are the most meaningful to them as individuals, families and communities.

That is certainly true in Newport Beach, as well, and photo editor Lawrence Sherwin went out this morning to tour parts of the city and document its observance of the anniversary. He filed this photo report:
