About 80 Newport El students helped “Paint the Town” Wednesday by creating winter and holiday scenes on more than 100 storefronts in Balboa Village.

Students had a rectangular space on shop windows at ExplorOcean and elsewhere around the fun zone to paint their design. The event is meant to “bring the holiday spirit to Balboa Village businesses through artistic expression,” according to organizers.

Kids also enjoyed ExplorOcean’s exhibits, touch tanks, and various arts and crafts.

The event was hosted by Balboa Village Merchant Association.
