Tuesday, Feb. 19

Taking a vehicle without consent. 8:30 a.m. Lighthouse and Island View lanes. A Placentia man was arrested for taking a vehicle without consent. A report was not available at press time. His bail was $25,000. There had been two warrants for his arrest for $100,000 and $25,000.

Residential burglary. 1:07 p.m. 1500 block of Mariners Dr. An unknown suspect gained entry to a residence via an open door. The suspect proceeded to ransack the residence, stealing jewelry, cash, and prescription pills valued altogether at $22,450.

 

Sunday, Feb. 17

Battery with serious injury. 12:08 a.m. 22nd Street and McFadden Place. A fight broke out on the 100 block of 22nd St. An Orange resident was arrested for causing serious bodily harm to the other fighter. Bail was set for $25,000.

Residential burglary. 3:42 p.m. 100 block of 24th St. Someone entered a residence through an unlocked door and stole two laptops valued at $2,800.

 

Saturday, Feb. 16

Recovery of stolen property. 1 a.m. 2000 block of Orchid Ave. A Laguna Niguel resident was contacted by a police officer and was subsequently found to have stolen goods in his possession. He was arrested and held on bail for $20,000.

Evading a peace officer. 2:16 a.m. San Miguel and Newport Center drives. While on patrol, an officer found a vehicle stopped in a traffic lane at East Coast Highway and Newport Center Drive. The officer approached the vehicle and asked the man inside to exit the vehicle. The driver fled in his car. He was arrested a short distance away. His bail was $20,000.

 

Friday, Feb. 15

Residential burglary. 9:48 p.m. 600 block of W. Ocean Front. An unknown suspect smashed a side window and entered a residence. The suspect proceeded to ransack the place, stealing speakers, a laptop, an iPad, a computer monitor, and a flashlight. The estimated value of the stolen property is $5,250, while the damage to the window is $300.
