The Westin South Coast Plaza was the scene of the annual Guilds of Segerstrom Center for the Arts Fashion Gala, which raised $200,000 in support of the Center’s world-class artistic programs and education outreach.
The evening began with a VIP champagne reception on the first floor and an impressive silent auction up in the Terrace Pavilion (where I picked up the lovely little plein air painting I wrote about in last week’s “Lynn’s Spin”).
This year’s event paid homage to long-time Center supporter Zee Allred as Honorary Chair, who was recognized by last year’s Honorary Chair, Sandy Segerstrom Daniels, and presented with a truly stunning sapphire and diamond necklace by Lugano Diamonds.
Kathy Fleming chaired this year’s gala along with Guilds Co-Chairs Lois Adams and Carol Piturro-Kentner, and all worked tirelessly on the event that culminated with an energetic fashion show featuring Escada’s 2011 Spring/Summer collection.
