Several hundred people turned out last Sunday for the annual Balboa Island Christmas Tree Lighting. The event began at 4 p.m. with live music local vocalists and musicians, plus a mound of snow for children to play in. Santa and Mrs. Claus arrived just before sunset, and then at dusk the tall tree in front of the Balboa Island Fire Station was lit.
