Kinecta to Open Mortgage Center Here

Kinecta Federal Credit Union plans to open a new mortgage center in Newport Beach and hire loan officers to staff it, the company announced this week.

Kinecta is investing in opening a new 9,500 sq. ft. mortgage center located at 4041 MacArthur Blvd.

It will be staffed by upwards of 30 experienced mortgage loan professionals and offer a variety of residential and commercial mortgages.

The new mortgage center increases Kinecta’s footprint in Orange County, where it has four branches..

“While other financial institutions are exiting the real estate arena in Orange County, Kinecta is entering the market to serve the unique needs of area residents looking for a financial institution with a strong track record,” said Brian Robinett, Chief Credit Officer.

Tax Law Firm Opens NB Office

The Law Offices of Jeffrey B. Kahn, P.C., a Bay Area- based tax, probate, trust and business law firm, has opened offices in Newport Beach and two other Southern California locations.

The new offices will be headed by Jeffrey B. Kahn and will provide the same suite of services available as the offices located in the San Francisco Bay Area.

The Newport Beach office is at 4695 MacArthur Court, 11th Floor.

Opus Bank to Open Two Branches Here

Irvine-based Opus bank has announced it will open two branches in Newport Beach, in Corona del Mar and Newport Coast.

The bank is expanding rapidly, also opening new branches in Los Angeles County and La Jolla and acquiring Cascade Bank in Washington state.

Acacia Research Deal Ends Lawsuit

Acacia Research Corp. announced that its Catheter Flushing LLC subsidiary has entered into a license agreement with Navilyst Medical Inc. The agreement resolves litigation that was pending in the federal court in Utah.

Toes on the Nose Hits the Road

Toes on the Nose is staging a bus tour of Southern California surf shops to promote its new Salt Session collection of limited edition T-shirts. Surfers Darren Eudaly and Dina Horo-Eudaly and singer-songwriters Summer Watson and Corey Adams will ride a specially decorated bus on the tour from Pismo Beach to Carlsbad. The tour will be filmed, to be turned into a movie.

‘Choplifter’ to Have Xbox Version

Brian Fargo’s inXile Entertainment today announced that “Choplifter HD” will be available for Xbox Live Arcade, in addition to previously announced PlayStation Network and PC versions, when the game releases this fall. Choplifter franchise creator Dan Gorlin has been brought in as a design consultant for the project, the company said.
