If the Government Shuts Down

If the Government Shuts Down and no one is there to hear it does it make a difference?

Did anyone miss the government? Outside of the National Park Service using armed park police to prevent anyone from “recreating” on NPS property, I thought the government was starting to downsize and it felt good. Besides the fact that the furloughed Federal workers got a paid “stay-cation” at our expense, who missed it?

Obama, of course, didn’t really negotiate with Republicans. Why should he? The mainstream media acted in their role as “umpire” and no matter which pitch Obama threw it was always called a strike. When the ump is in your corner, all you have to do is throw it in the vicinity and the other team gets called out.

But Obamacare’s rollout has gone so well….

No Plan

First of all the US government doesn’t have an approved budget as Harry Reid and the Democrat controlled Senate and the Pelosi led House haven’t passed a budget since 2006, even though the Republican led house has passed a budget and sent it on to the Senate every year that it has been in power (2010-to present).

That is like the Dodgers payroll this year. Second only to the Yankees, and anticipated to exceed New York’s next year. So in true liberal fashion, they really don’t care what it costs to run the team.

But Obamacare’s website is the best….

 Three Strikes

So the Congress has to pass a Continuing Resolution (CR) to authorize Obama to pay the bills.  This time the Republican led Congress passed the CR with the caveat that Obamacare be defunded. “STIIIRRRRRIIIKKKKEEEE 1” cries the umpire.

So the Republican House passed a CR with Obamacare’s individual mandate delayed for year. “STIIIRRRRRIIIKKKKEEEE 2” cries the umpire.

Republicans pass a bill to stop the medical device tax. “STIIIRRRRRIIIKKKKEEEE 3” cries the umpire.

Does it really matter what the Republicans pass?

But Obamacare actually had three people sign up on healthcare.gov yesterday!

Obama blames the Tea Party

The Republicans folded, the media declared Obama the winner, Obama blames the Tea Party and Republicans didn’t defend them.

But I think the shutdown was a great success. Everyone knows that Obamacare is Obama’s and the Democrats, not the Republican’s or the Tea Party’s. So when the kinder and gentler IRS knocks on your door for lack of Obamacare payment, who will you think of then?

But Obamacare’s premiums are less for everyone….

But In Politically Correct Football News

It was announced this week that the Washington Redskins have agreed to change their name because of all the hatred, violence & hostility associated with that word. From now on they will be known simply as the Redskins.

But Obamacare’s security of our personal information is as secure as the Social Security lockbox….

  1. Scott is right on again. The Obamacare Website obviously needs help. They need to draft the NSA guys to fix it. They can spy on anyone, anywhere. With that hacking savvy, they should have the website up and running in a moment. Then, they could add all of the information we input to their ever growing “1984” style database. I just wish the government would simply go away!

  2. Regarding government shutdown, unfortunately they didn’t shutdown deep enough nor long enough. I am reminded of a Firesign Theatre song with the lyric (slightly modified to fit this reply):

“How can we miss you when you won’t go away.”

  3. Was the government shut down? I didn’t notice…
Seems like everything was going well for the Feds, money rolled in, they spent it, and the news bashed the Tea Party. So what changed?
Funny my friend works for the Feds. All their vacations were canceled, folks on vacation ordered back to work. I didn’t understand this as the government wasn’t paying them. But then again, I don’t really understand our government… anymore.
