According to a press release issued by the Newport Beach Police Department, on Monday, July 14, at approximately 9:13 a.m., the Newport Beach Police Department’s Dispatch Center was notified of a traffic collision involving a vehicle and a motorcycle at the intersection of East Coast Highway and Reef Point Drive.
The motorcyclist suffered major injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by Newport Beach Fire Department Paramedics. The circumstances of the collision are still under investigation.
A Nixle Traffic Advisory was issued at 9:53 a.m. to advise motorists that the westbound lanes of Coast Highway were closed at Reef Point Drive. The closure was in effect for several hours.
