“Luck o’ the Draw” spring fundraiser for the Junior League of Orange County will begin at 6 p.m. at the Port Restaurant & Bar in CdM.  Admission is $25, which will include appetizers and a choice of two cocktails, or selected wine or beer. One thousand opportunity drawing tickets also will be available for a price of $50; the winning ticket will be drawn at the event at 7:45 p.m. for a Grand Prize of $10,000. Additional luxury prizes will be announced. “Life Without Limits Gala” to support United Cerebral Palsy at the Balboa Bay Club, honoring Julia and George Argyros. The celebration begins at 5:30 p.m. with a cocktail reception, silent auction and raffle including a variety of fine wines.  Dinner will be followed by the awards ceremony and video, a performance of music from “Wicked” by United Cerebral Palsy clients, live auction and dancing.

Newport-Mesa Spirit Run, to benefit the Newport-Mesa Schools Foundation, will be held at Newport Center. The all-day event will include adult 15K, 10K and 5K races and kids’ 5K, mile, half-mile and quarter-mile heats, along with a youth and fitness expo. Hoag Foundation 552 Club 30th Annual Hoag Charity Shoot at Triple B Clays Shotgun Sports Park in South El Monte, beginning at 8 a.m. The all-day event will include six official and three optional clay target events for men and women shooters of all levels.
