20131005_191159Style Week Orange County kicks off its seventh year on Sept. 10 at Neiman Marcus at Fashion Island with a runway show at 11:30 a.m. featuring all of this fall’s hottest trends.

In my opinion, one of the highlights of Style Week will be the runway design competition on Saturday, Sept. 13 at 7 p.m., where designers from the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM) will be showcasing gowns that play with the themes of resort-wear and modern luxury.

Also on the runway will be cocktail and evening gown looks from some of Fashion Island’s top stores including Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdale’s, Nordstrom, BCBG Max Azria, GARYS, Halston Heritage and Icara.

Make sure to come between 3 and 5 p.m. if you want to enjoy some of the in-store parties before sitting down for the show.

“Style Week O.C. is a great way to showcase the talented designers we have right here in Southern California, in addition to all the exciting trends for fall from our collection of retailers,” said Stacie Ellis, senior director of marketing for Irvine Company Retail Properties. “We’re honored to host this great event for the seventh year and to be able to bring the community together to enjoy the art and craft of fashion.”

As an added bonus, the first 200 guests to spend $1,000 or more at participating stores from Sept. 12 through 13 will receive a $100 Fashion Island gift card.

Before you head over to Style Week, why not get dolled up yourself with a makeup application or waxing at Blushington Fashion Island.

This stylish company was founded by Stephi Maron who wanted to create a place to get your makeup done that was both convenient and affordable.

The staff is friendly and helpful, going over all the services they have and helping you choose the right look for you, the occasion and even to compliment your outfit.

They offer facial waxing, brow and lash tinting, eye lash extensions and touch-ups and of course make up application.

Depending on your preference you can have full face make up applied ($45), camera ready ($55) or eyes only ($30). I like the eyes only option as I find myselfcat 4 doing the same look over and over again as it’s in my comfort zone.

The makeup artists at Blushington really listen to your wants and can give you everything from a natural appearance to a bold and daring night out look. They also do makeup for teen girls (or boys!) ages 13 to 17, and “sweet pea” make up applications for those under 12.

Blushintgon also offers an “at home” service that caters to brides, girls’ night out, birthdays, proms and special occasions. This service starts at $100 and brings all of the pampering to you in the comfort of your own home or venue of your choice.
